SALT LAKE CITY–KSL NewsRadio and KSL Sports Zone will showcase the BYU Cougars’ first ever Big 12 football game at Lavell Edwards Stadium in their new two-hour conference roundup, called First and 12.

The new sports talk show, which simulcasts on KSL NewsRadio and The KSL Sports Zone from 10 a.m.-12:00 p.m., launched on September 3, marking the first weekend of college football. First and 12, hosted by KSLSports.com BYU Insider Mitch Harper and longtime KSL NewsRadio and KSL Sports Zone host Alex Kirry, surveys the biggest games around the conference. Harper and Kirry start with 12 Headlines from that weekend’s play, they take apart BYU’s matchup and the Big 12’s other biggest games and update their own Big 12 Power Rankings every week.

“The significance of BYU’s move to the Big 12 cannot be overstated,” said KSL Sports director Nate Dowdle. “Tying together the brands of KSL NewsRadio and KSL Sports Zone in this way just makes sense with this kind of show. Add Mitch Harper’s digital prowess as the premier voice of BYU coverage in the market on KSLSports.com and we’ll provide the best in multi-platform coverage of the Cougars anywhere.”

“We were fortunate to launch First and 12 when we did, with the University of Utah unexpectedly announcing plans to join the Big 12 less than a month before our debut,” said KSL NewsRadio program director Kevin LaRue. “That will make next year’s program even more exciting.”

Program Director at The KSL Sports Zone, Lloyd Cole said, “We’re excited to give the listener extra breakdown of BYU and the Big 12 on a Sunday. Add Utah into the Big 12 next season with rival BYU and every Sunday becomes must listen radio.”

First and 12 also streams on the KSLSports.com website, as well as the websites for KSL NewsRadio and The KSL Sports Zone. First and 12 will continue through the end of the NCAA’s regular season on November 25.
